Driven by a shared love for nature, more than 30 years ago Jacques and his father Yves Rocher created the Yves Rocher Foundation, now recognised as being of public interest. We have been on the ground working alongside local communities all over the world to preserve nature ever since. Time is of the essence.

The equivalent of 800 football pitches of forest disappears every hour. Nearly 420 million hectares of forest have been wiped off the face of the earth since 1990…

The power of trees and collective action are two key solutions to tackling climate change and biodiversity erosion.

This is why with our Plant For Life programme and the unwavering support of our sponsor Yves Rocher, we are working alongside 71 partner NGOs in 45 countries. Together, we have already planted more than 125 million trees with the aim of restoring animal and plant biodiversity, creating jobs and hoping for a better future.

France

Plant hedges to save our countryside

Since the meeting between Jacques Rocher and Sylvie Monier, a member of Afac-Agroforesteries and laureate of the Terre de Femmes Prize, the Yves Rocher Foundation has become aware of the vital issue of replanting hedges.
In 11 years, 6 million trees have been planted in France with the support of 18,000 people, including Yves Rocher employees who came to lend a hand. Today, in the face of urgency, we have decided to join forces by creating the Tree Fund, which brings together more sponsors to collectively initiate a change in scale and deploy even more hedges in France.

Togo

Agroforestry is expressed in the feminine

The project in Togo could not exist without our Kwami and his association Youth for a Green Nature, which promotes agroforestry and the planting of one million trees in his country. Twenty villages are involved, including 2,500 families and 1,000 women. They aim to produce 5 tons of healthy vegetables dedicated to feeding their families but also for sale, thereby improving their living conditions and income.

Netherlands

Forest gardens: balancing nutrition and awareness

Feeding the population and cultivating the land without encroaching on biodiversity is the challenge that Heg&Landshap and Jan have taken on by developing a food forest. A large community of farmers, collectives, and children are involved in the adventure. Their goal is to grow as many species of trees and plants as possible to sustainably feed the population, as well as to invite the public to harvest and benefit from this nourishing nature.

Italy

Trees for Sustainable Agriculture

In Italy, intensive agriculture and the artificialization of soils have led to the gradual disappearance of wooded areas. The AVEPROBI Association and its collective of farmers have decided to join forces to rethink more sustainable agriculture. Objective: plant new hedges rich in 52 different native and typical plant species useful for animal biodiversity and pollinating insects. The Yves Rocher Foundation has committed alongside them to financing the planting of 38,000 trees on 50 farms.
