Trees after the storm

Reforesting after storms and regenerating abandoned land through pastures and industry with AerisFuturo

PROJET EN COURS (2)

Poland is feeling the full force of today’s unpredictable weather and industrial conditions, with the country’s forests bearing the brunt of the disruption. One of AerisFuturo’s objectives is to give trees the space they need to reclaim their rightful place, and the association is working with the Foundation to reforest plots of land. Pine, larch, birch and beech trees are being reintroduced to these devastated regions, allowing the soil to recuperate and bringing the region’s biodiversity back from the brink.

The project

Since 2010, the Fondation Yves Rocher has supported Aeris Futuro in its conquest of reforestation.

Among other things, it is a question of protecting the soil from erosion, bringing back biodiversity, raising awareness among inhabitants and farmers about the role of trees in the current context of climate change. To do this, it is important for the association to plant native species. Pines, larches, birches, beeches, firs… are reintroduced in these devastated areas, allowing the soil to be reconstituted and the region’s biodiversity to be restored.

Between 2010 and 2020, we planted 500,000 trees together. The goal for 2021 is to plant an additional 34,000 trees.

A few words about the NGO

Aeris Futuro is a Polish NGO created in 2005. The association has been planting trees since 2006 to limit and neutralize the carbon footprint, and meet the needs of populations. Today, Aeris Futuro has succeeded in neutralizing more than 150,000 tons of CO2 emissions.
