News from the field: Agroforestry in the Zio Valley, Togo

Breaking news from our agroforestry initiative in Togo, rolled out alongside our partner Youth For A Green Nature.

What’s up in Togo?

The Yves Rocher Foundation is working hand in hand with Togo’s Youth For A Green Nature association. The association aims to make life easier for rural communities through a number of different initiatives. Priority number one: restoring the Zio River’s gallery forest by protecting existing trees and reforesting. Priority number two: introducing women in the Zio Valley to agroforestry techniques, enabling them to grow their own vegetables independently.

Here in Togo, it’s all about reconnecting with agroforestry practices!

How are things progressing in Zio?

The results now speak for themselves. We recently heard from Tsévié, where local nurseries are up and running.

Since the start of this year, we have already planted 100,000 trees alongside the Youth For A Green Nature association. And we’re delighted!
