Saving the ecosystem inherent to the Altai pine and coniferous forest is absolutely vital. But mass forestry activity and 2008’s violent storm are making it more fragile with each passing day.
In 2010, the Yves Rocher Foundation decided to support WWF Russia, initially to save and restore the northern Arkhangelsk forest. The campaign then gradually expanded to include the Altai Republic, with a project to protect the region’s primary forest that serves as a natural barrier against the dust storms that blow in from Kazakhstan.
Beteween 2010 and 2020, we planted 8,500,00 trees in Russia with WWF.
