The Clean Everest project aims to rebalance Tibet’s ecosystem by protecting the natural springs that flow from the Tibetan plateau and Himalayan glacier to provide water for 2 billion people in Asia. Following three expeditions, 8.5 tonnes of the 10 tonnes of waste that had accumulated at 6,500 metres of altitude over 30 years were successfully removed thanks to the help of 60 local guides who received hands-on training, and local government support.
