The Yves Rocher Foundation – Institut de France honours visionary women for whom protecting the environment is a daily commitment.
In order to support their original ecological projects, the Foundation presents a bursary of 5000€ to the first-placed winner, 3000€ to the second-placed winner and 2000€ to the third-placed winner. In today’s environmental context, this year’s winners are playing a major role by raising people’s awareness on how to consume better and more ethically.
This year, the winner of the first prize is Jennifer Crawford, Director of Cyclo Nord-Sud, an organisation that collects unused bicycles in Quebec and sends them to countries in Africa and Latin America. Pictures.
The second-placed winner is Susanna Drake Fuller, the woman who initiated the Fish for the Future project of the Ecology Action Centre and who is researching marine biodiversity, making recommendations to the government on sustainable fishing practices and educating consumers and suppliers about ecologically responsible fishing. The third-placed winner is Barbara Genest for La Grande exposition – Les idées ALLANT vert, an educational tool designed to make primary school children aware of the importance of preserving our natural resources and properly managing our waste by getting them directly involved in environmental projects.
