Conservation of the plant world is a major goal of the Yves Rocher Foundation- Institut de France, a goal it works towards by creating botanical gardens and safeguarding and preserving endangered plant species and areas. Consequently, the Foundation has developed a specialized expertise in the area of medicinal plants and historical gardens. Such gardens are natural historical treasures that often date back to medieval times, are an important source of botanical history and thus reflect a region’s culture and patrimony.
Through its guidance, expertise, and plant donations, the Foundation contributes to the creation and upkeep of over 20 botanical, historical and medicinal gardens around the world, including the gardens of Manoir Kerazan, the abbeys of Royaumont and de Fontevraud. These gardens relate the history of plants throughout time.
